Business continuity planning

We were commissioned by BT Group, the UK's largest telecommunications company, to develop a website that companies could use to collaborate around continuity planning.  This type of planning focuses on issues likely to cause major disruption such as a health pandemic, serious weather problems, or terrorism.  The site brought together 200 executives from more than 25 companies using a range of tools including news feeds, audio podcasts of live telephone events, downloadable documents, and online forums.  As this was a membership site, where commercially confidential information was exchanged, security was essential, with restricted access to various site areas depending on membership level.

Technical details:

The site was developed in Drupal 5 and used an early version of node feed api.  It had a complex set of roles and permissions, and these were reflected in the menu using menu_per_role.  Webform was used for a number of questionnaires and surveys used on the site although we built some custom handlers to display the results of some surveys graphically.
